Internet has turned our existence upside down. It has revolutionised the world of communication, education, business, politic and privacy. But, are we sure that networks have improved our lives? Many people can’t believe that a screen can substitute a real relationship.
The rise of internet has sparked a debate about how online communication affects social relationships: form one side it is easier to interact with someone you really care about, it lets you share experiences and information, it breaks down every kind of frontier. On the other hand, it could be dangerous for the authenticity of relationships, because it leads young people to prefer a smartphone rather than their friends. Also in the field of education, technology could be as helpful as dangerous. It has changed the way we get information, the way we study and we learn.
But, on the other side, tablets and the net have stolen the beauty of books and encyclopaedias, which have lost their value.
Also political activism has become easier thanks to social networks: politicians can show their ideas and find consents among the crowd, because they can easily enter in our everyday life, just posting on their profiles, reaching anyone everywhere.
In the same way, online shopping has become a trend for everybody, because shops have changed their methods of distribution and advertising, thanks to the Internet, but many shops are closing.
