The months of the second part of the choreutical high school are always very intense because they are rich of dance competitions throughout Italy. We had the opportunity to participate to “Danza Ferrara 2018” in the fantastic municipal theatre of Ferrara.
It was a very interesting day because we were not only happy to participate in a contest with mid-high level and with good competition, but we were also guests of a beautiful city. In fact, our teacher Mrs. De Laurentiis organized also a visit of this beautiful city. our day started with our Headmaster’s good luck. We arrived in Ferrara, we visited some places near the theatre and finally we started getting ready.
Anxiety, adrenaline, emotion rose slowly, every moment was good to review the choreography, remember the corrections and focus on our goals. The performances flowed fast and soon arrived the moment of the classic solos, Letizia
Bacis first appeared, then Beatrice Limonta, then Giada Ubiali. They did a great job despite the inclination of the stage that was felt a lot and that for the dancers is a fundamental element to take in consideration because it changes a lot the axis of the body. Then the “Pas de Trois”: the odalisques Mariapia Simonetta, Beatrice Limonta and Letizia Bacis. Then the contemporary dance: Romina Benvenuti, Alice Corrada, Andrea Valongo, Oscar Tempesti and Nora Spreafico performed with the choreography “Le mie parole” by Mrs. Ottolenghi, it was a very exciting moment because this piece emotionally involves us a lot.
Very happy, we were ready to take the last step: all the high school classes brought their own choreography of Spanish dance. First “Noche gitana”, then “Viento de pasion”, finally “Ritmo caliente”. So finally the time of awards came: rush of adrenaline, our heart rate increased, our breathing got faster… first Letizia Bacis who won the 3rd place of the classical junior solo, then Giada Ubiali taken the 2nd solo senior classical position. Here is the moment of the groups: with joy they announced the 1º place of groups classical junior, the “Pas de Trois” of Mariapia Simonetta, Beatrice Limonta and Letitia Bacis, then the 2º place to the choreography of character to the 4th and 5th class for “Ritmo Caliente” and finally they called “Le mie parole” for the 2nd place contemporary groups: we were very satisfied!
All with a radiant smile, we left the theatre; it was late night and we were really tired and we fell asleep after the comment of the teacher that was very happy.
The name and the quality of our high school are climbing higher and higher, also receiving personal compliments from very important and famous people in international dance, for this, we thank our fantastic teachers Elena de Laurentiis, Marta Ottolenghi and Veronica Cionni because they prepare us to the best.
